flashlight mount for 870 tactical?

Surefires on my "Two is one and one is none" set.

Another option I've played with using an Magpul SGA forend, scout mount and Surefire X300U

Other than mounting it, no. The barrel shadow due to the location goes at about the 4 o'clock position, which isn't bad as a right handed shooter since the gun itself usually obstructs that area anyways. It's solid. I just don't like the push activation as much (my delicate thumbs!), and the light itself blocks a decent amount of my FOV versus the dedicated forends. It's pretty tight to the barrel in that config, probably similar to most ring and rail setups. If inclined it wouldn't be hard to rig up a tape switch, but then you get into dedicated forend price territory again.

The ultimate one for going this route with an SGA forend (paging Rampart/OST) is this - (hxxp://www.impactweaponscomponents.com/product/smc-light-mount-1-00/), which I haven't been able to find in Canada, and they don't ship here. Combined with a E series Surefire or other thinner light, it'd be pretty low profile.

rotncore, that setup with the Magpul SGA looks promising. Have you used it much?

Yeah, they don't like us Canucks.

I talked to them a couple times and wanted to buy thousands of one item. His response "Nope, we don't deal with Canada"
