Flashlight reflections - what do you use?

I was shooting from an unlit barn out into a field, and when walking back to my rifle you could see nothing within the structure except for a tiny white circle, this being ambient light reflecting off of my streamlight's bezel. I had heard about this occurring in a recent GarandThumb video (on recce rifles) but seeing it in person really made it stick out like a sore thumb from the muzzle end.
So what do you guys use to cover it/prevent reflection? Open to all suggestions, or even those who believe this isn't really an issue.

Cheap solution? Piece of hockey tape over the end during the day is what I would do. Pull off if going out after dark. Or you could get a flip cover for a scope that fits your light?

In his video GarandThumb suggested an Aimpoint bikini cover (or something similar) taped on so you can just slide it off for night use.

Yeah the bikini cover was going to be my choice too after looking around for flashlight caps and stuff. Just wanted to check in and see if anyone had had luck using other methods, definitely useful if the flashlight is mounted just beside the flash hider too since you can prevent carbon buildup on the lens

What light do you have?

Surefire and others used to have caps for their incandescent models but they’re basically flip open lens covers. Normally with a coloured or IR filter. Likely redundant these days with current LEDs but as you’ve discovered can still serve a purpose.

I heard of some dudes using Butler Creek flip caps.

Caps, bikini covers, tape, etc, you won't know until you try and adopt one :p

Just tried out and had good luck with an aimpoint comp m4 bikini cover, the small end perfectly covers a Streamlight rail mount 2 (should also fit RM 1) and the larger end covers a streamlight hl-x well

Makes sense the reflector would reflect. I was surprised one day walking back to my rifle how much a red dot lens reflected back
