Flaslight Mount for 1895G?

Some of the guys responding here seem to think a bear gun is a fashion statement rather than a safety tool. Can you get bedliner in colors other than tacky-tickle black? Something that matches my hunting clothes perhaps? They might feel better about that. :p

Anyone who has actually tried using a powerful rifle or shotgun while holding a flashlight should appreciate that it's not an ideal situation, especially if you want any hope of a follow-up shot before yogi gets up close and personal. ;)

Besides, it still looks a heck of a lot better than a Remington! :puke: :dancingbanana:

In bush camps, shooting at night is only done if ABSOLUTELY necessary. Unless you have done a head count of your camp personnel, you cannot be sure that the area behind the bear is safe for fire. If no one is in danger and no essential equipment is being destroyed then just hold your fire and deal with the problem in daylight.

If you have the misfortune of having to fire at night then you need the light to place an accurate shot through the shoulders to anchor him. Tracking a wounded bear in the dark is best avoided at all costs.

I am on a large ranch, and you never know when or where you will be facing a bear or cougar. I've been in the same position, holding the shotgun on a bear with a handheld flashlight. No shot was fired, but it was obvious that I would have been much slower and more clumsy for additional shots with this setup. Not a good feeling at all.

I decided that night never to be in that position again.

Lord help me now the Mall Ninja's will be carrying Guide guns. Is there a bayonet bracket available too? Why not cover it in truck bed liner to protect it from escalator scuffs.

I prefer "Farmer's Market Ninja" thank you. :D

Hmmm, bayonet lug, maybe I can get one welded onto the bipod. Anyone got a night vision scope on their guide gun yet? :p
It's just not right to do that to such a nice lever gun.

I screwed one of those single burner stoves onto the forestock on mine.
I just screw on the propane cylinder, put the kettle on, and by the time I shoots something, the kettles boiled!!!

No need for Ghost rings or a scope. I just lines up with the kettle spout.
If he's real far, I shoots when his hump is in the steam.

A light can fail on any firearm. My surefire held up to the recoil of 12 guage slugs, I'm betting it will take anything this can dish out too. I do have a line on an LED lamp for it that will be available soon though, in case I have any problems while testing this combo out.

"Make that first shot good" is always the right strategy though. :)
