hey all,
I just purchased a brand new Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14 off of ebay. It was clearly stated that it was brand new and not refurbished or a factory reject. Anyways i just got the scope today and the first thing i noticed was that there was no plastic wrapping on the box, meaning that it had been opened since it left the factory. This didn't bother me too much untill i looked through the scope and noticed a bunch (7-10) black specs/lines in the field of view. I first thought that there was some packing debris on the objective lense, but upon inspection it came up clean. It seems like whatever is causing the specs is inside the scope. Has anybody ever come across this? Any suggestions as what to do about it? I've emailed the ebay seller, but have yet to get a response. Thanks for the help.

Contact Burris directly, I had a FFII that had a crack in the threads that hold the adjustment caps on. I sent it to them and I had it returned within 10 days as good as new. They are very good about warranty issues.
Then kick the seller in the ball for misrepresenting the item.

I seen several Burris Fullfield scopes which were purchased from ebay and can certainly say that there are some differences in each scope. For some reason one scope is much clearer than another, one scope will have different feel and sound to the turrets, etc. I'm sure that most scopes are like this (in that they differ slightly from one to the other) however I've never seen so much difference in several scopes of the same type before. Chances are that some of the Burris scopes on ebay are not "brand new", etc. Rejects, etc. sometimes.

As said, deal with the seller of the product then see if Burris will help you out.

FWIW

it looks lke i'll be contacting burris, thanks for the help guys. Also, besides the aformentioned flaw i am very pleased with this scope especally as far as clairty is concerned.
Cheers.

There's too much counterfeiting on eBay in terms of optics to make the risk worth it. I'd rather purchase direct from a dealer and know I'm getting what I paid for.

my local dealer wants 699 + tax for this scope, tax in its under 350 from ebay. This is my second fullfield 2 from the same seller and the first one is perfect.

I had those on a FFII 3-9x40 that I had mounted on a 7saum. Within 3 shots they had dissapeared for good - I figured it was just flecks of tube crap
