Flintlock pistols, restricted or no?

In the Criminal Code, Interpretation to Part III (Firearms and Other Weapons) S.84(1):
(a) means a genuine antique made in 1897 or earlier, basically using non-cartridge ammunition, and (b) means guns on another list.
That list is the Regulations Prescribing Antique Firearms (SOR/98-464), which lays these out in the Schedule:
So your reproduction flintlock pistol is neither a genuine pre-1898 Antique, nor does it fall in the BP Reproduction category, because of the bolded fact that it is a handgun.
Therefore it is still considered a firearm for the purposes of CC Ss. 91-95 [authorization to Possess], 99-101 [trafficking], 103-107 [imports and tracing], and 117.03 [inspection]. Antiques always fall under the other Sections of the Code. In short: Restricted.

How do you know that the OP's pistol is a reproduction, and not a genuine pre-1898 antique? He doesn't say. If it is pre '98, it is exempt from licencing, permits, etc.
Post '97, it is modern, and restricted/prohibited classification applies.
