Flintlock restoration

A few years ago I pickup up a this mystery, all-metal flintlock for a song. In its relic condition, it was missing several parts, as shown in the picture below.



After some research I found a few different examples similar to what I have. Here is one, listed as a mid-1600's German or Dutch.




I recently met a fellow member, Bill aka wr.sainsbury. As it turns out, bringing some former glory back to this piece was right up Bill's alley. Bill was excited to work on this, and I was just happy to have it under the care of a knowledgeable flintlock enthusiast. A win-win situation! There is a mix of parts from donor guns, and only one part (top jaw) from track of the wolf. Here is what it looks like now:




I am quite happy to have something that looks more like an antique pistol rather than a steel club. Big thanks to Bill, and a special thanks to Tiriaq for pushing me to buy this after showing him some pictures. I was just getting my feet wet with antiques at that time.
