Flintlock Rifle - John Armstrong copy

Just finished this copy of a John Armstrong rifle. Built from a plank, using a 50 Cal. green mountain barrel, Chambers gunmaker's lock, modified slightly, and appropriate hardware from MBS.

Have you considered going into the business of building custom guns?

It is difficult to make a living building rifles like these.The parts to build a nice gun are $1000 to $1400 U.S. 100 to 250 hours [never keep track of time] depending on embellishments, so that makes it quite expensive and there doesn't seem to be a great demand in Canada. I have bean building for years, mostly rather plain guns and in recent years have put more effort into guns like you see here so I am building what I like and not what someone else wants. Wish I was more computer smart so I could post more photos. Anyway thanks for your thoughts, my hope is that by sharing these photos others may be inspired to do the same.
