Floating Barrel Worth It?

I've got a heavy barrel Marlin in 17 HMR. Shoots inch & a quarters, average, groups @ 100 yds with 4 different types of ammo. You think it's worth it to float the barrel?
I guess the worst case senario I waste a couple hours sanding the stock eh?

it should be able to do better than that. .17hmr is supposed to be very accurate. there are many other factors at play however

Also consider glass bedding the action to stock.

Yes that is a start and see where that gets you.

I've got an old (early 80s?) Red Field 3x9 on it for now. A sharper scope may tighten up the groups but I'll be doing some sanding on the stock for sure.
