Hello you all!
One of my friends recently showed me this very old rifle, which once was owned by his grand-father and maybe his grand-grand-father before him.
It looks to me as a very nice example, although somewhat abused, of a rimfire Flobert rifle.
I haven’t had time to slug the barrel yet or even try to clean it but I think its origins can be traced to some Belgian gunsmith and the peculiar shape of its triggerguard could be an indicative trademark of that armorer.
I’ll try to get it apart and see if I can at least reglue the cracked stock which has been “taken care of” very long ago. Maybe will I uncover some telltale proof marks under the wood.
Perhaps I should try to find some parts to restore it to nice wallhanger status.
If you have some hints about its origins, please do so!
