has anyone thought of (or tried) making a flush 5 round mag from an original sks 10 rounder?
thoughts or pics?
looks like if you trimmed bottom of the inside body/housing, and top of the outside housing
(then bent piece over to catch the mag release)
it would/could be the same as the flush fitting 5 rounders...
i have successfully made 5 rounder for the lee enfield

I believe you can buy the flush 5 rnd mag.

ive done that, yes it works rather well. I built an sks for a chicky who was very small frame and I wanted it to be as lite as possible. it looked great with a monte carlo stalk, I just trimed away slowly and left enough on the back to bend back and make a new tab. worked perfectly. trimmed the inner magewell inhalf aswell. I liked the look very much and am going to do it again with a timbersmith stock for myself aswell

SWEET...i have a flush 5 rnd with a ramline monte...just isn't 100% reliable, so i thought the original trimmed would be the ticket...we all know you can buy one (that may work) but i wanted to see if anyone has tried it (and occured any problems)...thx

I bought one a long time ago, bought it online somewhere. here is the only pic I have of the one I did, she loved it, I had fun doing it. doesn't show it very good but you get the idea. I removed bayo lug an shortened it to 18.6 very lite

i never thought to do pink camo for the daughter/wife...i've done the camo thing couple/few times...mag looks perfect!

like I said she loved it. one of those fiberglass MC stocks. I even hollowed out the forend a bit. when I was done it wasn't much heavyer than a 10-22

i have one with the bayo mount grinded smooth...would love the 18.555 barrel, heisitent to try it

I removed the complete site and bayo lug off the bbl. cut just the site off , put bbl in lathe turned it to 18.6 ,threaded the end for an AK style/ thread fh, reinstalled front site, red locktighted it in place square. next day after locktight was set up I remilled a spot on the bbl for the pin. I bet she has put a case through it in 2 summers. shoots more than I do. I have a pic of her holdin it somewhere proud as can be, ill post it if I can find it. turned her from a take it or leave it shooter to a "hell yea lets go shootin" girl. also turned her from a so-so shooter to bein almost better than me now to. gotta do our part to keep more shooters shootin, and if it takes a pink gun, so be it

that's awsome...i've introduced many to shooting, and the sks is always a smile getter...first time my 11yr old shot it (w/ an audience) the little ham held it on her hip and said 'say good-buy to my little friend!'
...comenced doing her best scarface impression...i said 'it's say HELLO to my little friend, and when did you watch that movie?'
she said she just heard the quote...too cute(don't have lathe though)
