Fluting Xcr heavy barrel

I am considering having the heavy barrel on my early
Generation 223 XCR fluted in an effort to reduce weight .
can anybody recommend a gunsmith ?
In your opinion would this be considered a feasible Adventure?

If you are looking to shave ounces fluting is the way to go. If you need to lose lbs a different barrel profil is in order.

Get a lighter weight barrel u will lose almost a pound

Not sure of the actual weight difference myself, but seeing them side by side I'd have to agree I'd just swap to the light profile. See post 2310.
