Marvelux is also hygroscopic so if you use it make sure to clean out your pot afterwards.

This stuff just melts and then fumes off. Can't see it affecting your pot? "clean out your port afterwards" In what way?

when I get the temperature up. I throw in a small chunk of straight bees wax, light it with a match, stir it till it goes out, works great.

I usually flux with sawdust in my big pot, then I use beeswax in my 4-20. I had a hell of a time getting rid of some black goo that came out of a 2lb roll of acid cord solder, luckily I was melting in a small stainless pot on my hot plate that I keep beside my casting pot, no big loss, I can find another one at the dump for free, but I'm worried that it carried some of the goo into the ingots.
