Well I was out near Viking on sunday and got to do some shooting with my 222 and my hornet and my HMR. Love shooting all 3 of them but if I could only use one it would be the Hornet.
Had my bud set up on a bench and he was shooting a 20 Extreme and a 204 at a wide variety of distances. It was a lovely warm day and a very good time was had by all.
Esp. like to thank my friend that lives in Viking that always know where the gophers will be. FS

Why the preference with the Hornet? Did you consider getting it K'd? Just wondering as I wait for my new .218 Mashburn Bee.

I like seeing the body parts go flying, with the 222 you don't get to see it and the HMR can make them fly, nothing like the Hornet. My load is 13gr of Lilgun and the 35gr Vmax in a CZ 527 that the previous owner shortened the barrel on for a real nice truck Vermin shooter. Beauty trigger, I never use the single set. My groups were some what suspect at 100 yards, but they still proved very lethal inside of that yardage.
I have a K that is on loan to a fellow in Kingston, who told me he always wanted to try out a K, this also a CZ 527. FS

An the only thing I forgot to do that day was ask to shoot that sweet Kimber...as for the hornet...one of these days that will be a have to own rifle for popping dirt dogs..:dancingbanana:

I use the Winchester 45 grain hollow point made for the Hornet in my 222.
Sometimes I also load the 46 grain Calhoon double hollow point in the same cartridge.
The destruction is something else to witness.

Speaking of Calhoon I have some of their bullets for my 19 Calhoon in 27 and 32 gr, but have yet to shoot them at any critters. Guess I'll have to try and change that. FS

You're going to be in for quite the "air show" FS.
I remember vividly smacking an adult gopher @70 yards using the Calhoon HP bullet. There was a distinct cracking noise upon bullet impact, and Mr Gopher was separated into five parts exiting stage left pronto!

Well if we have some time D I'll load up some more 50gr TNT's and you can give it a go.

no collection is complete with out a triple Deuce, I have several extra and I haven't tried the newest one a Steyr custom Mannlicher. A fine piece of steel and walnut, perhaps not quite as pretty as the Kimber, but a beauty non the less.
Regards Greg
