Maybe it is time for the Canadian firearms/ammunition industry to start lobbying for government support...given the various export bans from the US it would quickly become a viable industry.

Well, Canada is the world's largerst producer of zinc, 2nd largest producer of lead and nickel, and 5th largest producer of copper..

We have all the resources to make cases and bullets.. I imagine the hoops to jump through to set up shop would all be made of acid and set on fire.. but perhaps that could be solved by not having said factory anywhere near Ontario.

That could be the original source . I heard all loaded ammo but heard nothing of components . Also heard that if or when it happens police departments will have to get a special import permit to bring in fmj practise ammo but none for civilian sales . I haven't read the CSSA newsletter but it could have started with that and more was read into it than is really there . Don't know , that's why i asked here .

Actually a good part of the blame goes to Chretien. He and GWB never got along and as a result we are suffering.
