FMJ Total Ban

Crap, there is some sort of hunting bullet (only available stateside) that has a tungsten core instead of lead - but like Fulton's; they don't particularly care that Canadians are interested in merchandise like that, and quite frankly, they don't want to know. . .
You can get those in Canada, i have some. Barnes makes them.

Do you really think a bunch of dead Canadians in Iraq would have changed anything?

It was the way Chretien snubbed GWB. Almost irrelevant if we had of actually sent troops.

That is why we need US Export permits for almost everything and why the US won't export certain military ammo to us. Canada is in the same category as other countries that harbour terrorists.

Are you aware that there are "friendly" countries that don't need US Export permits for most firearms and components? Well, Canada isn't on that list.

Countries EXEMPT from US export permits include:

Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom (excluding Ireland).

I didn't think that covered the civilian equivalents of 5.56 and 7.62x51.

It didn't. But a couple of times a year since then it's been posted that someone heard from someone that there is no more 223/308 etc coming into Canada, invariably, it was someones mistaken reference to the 'military calibre' stoppage.

I attend the seminars, I've heard nothing about anything new. If someone has been told something specific, please post it.

They're still approving permits to the best of my knowledge. Our wholesaler seems to have his finger on what's up, and they're taking orders for 223/308 for 2009.

Sorry, but that is just not true.

Canada has it better than just about any other country when it comes to getting their firearms.

^Absolutely untrue. Where did this list come from?

There are no countries that American exporters don't need Export Permits to ship to.

You are correct, it does not apply to firearms. It does however apply to less than $100 ($500) shipments of controlled components. The list is basically NATO countries NOT including Canada.

Heard today that the USA is about to ban the export of all ammunition in any caliber loaded with a full metal jacket bullet or any bullet manufactured with a lead core . Not just common military ammo but everything . Don't know if it's a proposal at this time or if it's about to happen . Anybody hear the same thing ? Wouldn't 'lead core' eliminate just about everything ?

Bull####!!

It has nothing to do with Obama if it has come in to play before he even takes office. This would have been pushed through by the Bush administration

Sorry but it has not yet come into effect. This is comming from Obamas transition team, nothing to do with Bush. Bush has kept the civil servants and the courts in line. We are in for at least 4 years of crap with the sun rises and sets from the UNs ass Obama.
