FN .45 Tactical or HK .45 Tactical

They're both too big for a 45 cal pistol, for that matter so are the full sized Glocks. Of the 2, I preferred the FN but all of these guns are waaaay bulkier than an M&P45 and feel clubbish in your hand.

I agree about the Glock 21 but the H&K and especially the FNX is anything but bulky, in fact IMO, it’s a better fit and design than the P220 (did I just say something kinda negative about a SIG?) with a single stack mag. In addition, the grip texture on the FNX is very aggressive ensuring a very stable grip.
H&K and the FNX are both fantastic guns, as I have already said, my vote goes to the FNX.

The ergonomics on the newer HK's aren't for everyone. From the mag release to some the iterations of their triggers. I've never handled an FN, but it sure looks nice.

Yeah, I really wanted to like the HK45—I bought one, sold it then bought another thinking I didn't give it a fair shake. Same thing with the second—I found the grip too slippery and the groove inside the bottom of the trigger guard tended to bite my trigger finger under recoil.

Im really liking the FNX tactical! And seriously considering buying one, but what vendors carry them? Im from Toronto area and my range has HK so I can feel those, but Id really like to see the FN in person if possible before buying one over the HK. I wanted to buy a 2nd handgun in .45 and since I have a Glock 17 was thinking to go HK or FN for my 2nd to mix it up...I also really like the factory RMR cut on the FN because I just got a dual illuminated RMR

If you have tiny hands like me the HK mag release is great, you can drop the mag with your trigger finger without drastically altering your grip. I can't even do that on a 1911.

Another drawback with both guns is the DA pull - the HK DA pull is long and stacks to the point that the trigger flexes, the FN's is longer and heavier, but cleaner and the trigger doesn't flex. HK needs to look at the polymer used in it's controls, that flexing sensation extends to the safety/decocker too.

The FN I have is the FNX. I have also had an FNP. There are differences in the FNX models as well. One is an FNX Tactical and the other just a FNX. The Tactical has a milled slide, raised sights, threaded barrel and comes in a nicer case. The regular FNX does not have a TB nor a milled slide for optics and comes in a plastic case. These are the only differences I am aware of. The tactical version sells for about $1400 and the other for as low as about $900.

Modding the DA/SA model to light LEM is the best mod you can do to the HK45.

Just recieved my HK45CT with the LEM, it is a sweet trigger, going to try it at the range today... JP.
