Im thinking of getting one of these rifles, what's the going rate for one in original condition? Do the different calibers affect the price much?

thanks

Realistically 700-1300$, depending on caliber and condition. Most expensive will be the ones in .30-06 (i.e. Belgium, Luxemburg, Columbia), least expensive will usually be the Egyptian (8mm Mauser) and Venezuelan (7mm Mauser). The Venezuelan ones tend to be in VG+ condition, and the others vary a bit more. This is definitely a reload recommended gun, I had some serious issues trying to get my 7mm Mauser one working with commercial ammo, and just sold it off rather than get playing around with it.

The most common ones you will see are the Egyptian ones, usually with the Venezuelan ones being next most common (even though the Venezuelan contract was one of the smallest). Very few pop up in .30-06 as everyone tends to like the caliber. Hope this helps.

Nice rifles. I have a really nice refurb Egyptian and a Venezuelan. Nice to shoot, like most big semi autos.

Whatever you decide to pay you will certainly get a fantastic rifle. Put a few rounds down range with my beat up old Egyptian over the weekend and once you get the gas system dialed in they are a very smooth shooting rifle. One thing about mine is it absolutely chucks the brass so I might open up the gas valve just a little and see if it still functions. They are a quite attractive rifle to look at as well. I would not mind tracking down a nicer example, maybe in 7mm or 30-06 to compliment by old Egyptian.

And I agree with the comment above about reloading for these rifles as well.
