Here is a pretty common FN Browning Model 1900 (dated pre-1910) ... but with quite interesting agency and property markings.
On top of slide: FAURE LE PAGE ET FILS A PARIS
On back grip strap: Sce N. LOUVRE.13 - (Sce: Service) - (N : North)
One must know the French Ministry of Finance had offices in the North wing of Musee du Louvre in Paris, from 1871 till WW1. Subject pistol was provided by Faure Le Page, a famous firearms maker and a distributor for FN Browning and other marks, in Paris. This weapon numbered “13” would have been assigned to a staff member of the Ministry.
