fn c1a1

As I CAN'T own a real one, what is a Dewat C1A1 worth these days?

Hard to say since there are so few of them sold. I would suggest $1100 on the bottom end, up to $1600.

There are still several hundreds of the C1A1s in civilian hands, and eventually, the way the laws are now, they will pretty much all end up as dewats. Whether or not the market will absorb that many and still keep the price up is another question.

Looks correctly Canadian to me...

Half-length breach cover with stripper clip guide, diopter rear sight and folding charging handle.

Can't for the life of me remember the markings on issued rifles of the 80s.

Nice to see a C1 AND a C2 in your collection.

Thanks, they are indeed Cdn. Here is another ex-Cdn FN I recently picked up (and had to deactivate).

This is an EX-1, one of about 1700 purchased for trials before being adopted by Canada as the replacement for the Lee Enfield.

And on the other side it should say C.A.L and the year and Ser#. Well at least from what I remember. Which was a long time ago. Beside SPRINT, MR YUCK says stay the FU_K away from the ammo point LOL

They look awesome.

Once I'm settled into my new home in Edmonton, I'm considering building my own personal museum in my "man room". Glass cases on display pedestals etc.

Thinking some Dewats would make for nice mannequin Dioramas. WWII, Korea, early 80s, mid 90s and current. Something like that anyway.

It indicates drill purpose. Often it would be found on the forestock and butt of these rifles as well. After the trials were over and the C1s were made, the EX rifles were relegated to drill purpose rifles for the army cadets and as jump rifles at the airborne schools. That way, real rifles were not being damaged nor being tied up in training.

Those rooms are never big enough and fill to the point where you can't get into them. Here are some shots of mine:

I remember when 'Indian' fals were going for 170.00 back in the early 90's ,before C68 ushered in this current utopia of peace and order, I would give my 12(6) up in a milli second for 12(5)

'stencollector'

Who painted on the c1(a1)-c2(a1) markings on the rifle(s) ?????

I paid $125 for mine through International Firearms....I miss the good old days

Hopefully when PM harper get's his Majority we will be allowed to shoot our 12-5's

A buddy of mine ordered 10 Ishapores at the last minute as a gun distributor was closing. Got them for $50 each. 6 months after ordering, and not knowing whether the company had shipped them or not (their doors were closed forever the day after he ordered) the local RCMP called him up and told him to come pick up his rifles.

Boy, those were the days.
