Fn c2

Hi all.
I have a COMPLETELY HYPOTHETICAL question.
If a person had an FNC1 rifle, what all would it take to make it look like an FNC2? If a person had a C2 barrel, and a set of C2 handguards/bipod, could the other C1 parts (such a the gas tube etc) be used, thereby making a look alike C2? Or are there more parts involved?
I am not interetsed in the select fire parts, as I realise the selector is different etc. (never mind the legalities of that!).
I am wondering about making a C1 LOOK like a C2.

Aesthetically the differences are forward of the bolt and the rear sight.

So...yeah, if you possessed the heavy barrel and bipod and gas system from a C2, you should be able to install it into a C1 (or a metric FN for that matter).

You would also need the longer 30 round magazine to make it "look right".

If you had a complete C2 upper, you could slap it on the lower.

Warms the cockles of my heart,,,,, 1985 all over again(BMOQ-Phase 2&3, CFB Petawawa),,,,,, I still remember humpin a 25 set with a metal rucksack frame on my back and carrying the C2 with a full mag bra,,,, just cause I was the biggest and oldest!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is funny.

I took the bipod off my C2 and installed a C1 handguard. I had to hollow it out a bit to get around the heavy barrel.

I wanted to have, in effect, a heavy barrel C1.

It was decent shooter, but hopeless in full auto mode.

The good old days when we could shoot all our guns.

I have a C2 barrel assembly on one of my FN L1 A1s, still have a few bipods, new C1 stripped lowers, and sight assemblies lying around my shop.

I was a C2 gunner in 1 PPCLI and even used it my summer on the rifle team along with my C1 main gun for target shooting out to 500 yards. Tried to use the 20 round mags from the C1 as much as possible on targets as well as in the field, the 30 round mag would drag or catch firing from a slit trench or prone. I could tap out 1 or 2 shot groups on the range with the C2. Very accurate with the bipod. Thanks for the memories!
