A good friend has a really nice FN-FAL CA, Belgian marked, not Israeli, like new. He has health problems and needs to sell it. What is a reasonable price for this rifle?

I sold as new one 5 or 6 years ago for 600, but I don't think
that these days you would get that, 400.oo?
There is one listed on Bud Haynes auction in Red deer, I have not checked to see what it went for, Stock number is F1 I think that one is a Israeli Price should be about the same, thou I don't have much dealings
with these lately

That sounds pretty accurate.

I have seen several on the canadian firearms site or the EE here and most seem to run the 350-450 range.

Too bad, just not much demand for the prohibs when you can't shoot em.

Sadly it's worth more deactivated than live...anyone can buy it deactivated, the live market is quite limited.

Exactly the way Alan Rock had planned. I can even see the days for dewats are numbered if liberals win the next one.

Your crazy if you think the current Government...or any of the parties in Canada gives a rats ass about the rights of Gun owner in Canada.

Forgot in the last post , I sold everything but the bare frame to
a US of A fellow at the Swift Current gun show one time and
he paid my full price + $ 50.oo for braking it down for him at the gun show.
L1A1 brit.
It would be worth big bucks if we could get them into the usa, but they can't have the receivers.

I'd love to have one, especially for that price, but I'm too young to have any prohib status :(

What burns me having a 12-5 is that I can't have a 12-3. I would love to buy a live Israeli to add to my collection, but they are all 12-3, as are a lot of the Belgians and the German G-1s. If I could buy it, I would go higher than $400, but I can't.

Since ATT's are not available for them anyway...what's the difference between live and deact?

Also part of Rock's scheme...divide us into manageable chunks and as we die off, the guns are confiscated...I mean seized...I mean surrendered to the government for safety's sake...we must build a culture of safety don't you know.

Elimination of guns from our Liberal multicultural workers paradise, one class at a time.

Older #### and click deacts are sortof OK, but under the current "guidelines" any currently live gun would get welded up into a solid lump of steel. I want to be able to detail strip and compare between models.

As another poster said, there is always hope that the rules might change in the future, slim hope, but hope never the less.

I agree with Navy shooter, the FN's are not going for what they are worth for sure as they are a really nice rifle(and fun to shoot when we could). In my opinion, the Belgium made FN's are of top quality and should fetch much more than the Aussie, or British guns. I have seen Aussie FN's advertised for $500 to $650 on a couple of sites, not that I would pay that for them and if I did not have an FN, my first choice would be the Belgian ones. I am not an expert, but I would say the Belgian gun mentioned should be worth at least $650, if not more?? Of course you need CA status, which not many are fortunate to have. If I where you, I would have it deactivated and perhaps you could ask more, as the market for buyers is increased. Good luck

I paid over a grand for a nice FN G Series about 6 months ago. I wanted one for a long time and I paid the going price for it. I would like to take it out to shoot it but the government says I can't be trusted. I will not be dewating it.

Selling the parts piece meal will probably fetch more $ than selling the whole gun as a package.

Dewat or not dewat? Eventually, there won't be a choice when your time is up.
