Just thought of something, are you shooting 7.62 or the .22 conversion?
The Cadet post prompted me on that one,it would be nice for a reply though.

good guess sarge but no, its a 7.62nato cos he said he checked the gas plug and gas rod, when using a 22LR conversion, the gas system is not in use, the conversion works on a blow back system.

btw, those conversion are very expensive , cost more than most rifle. wish i had one tho.

I know. I fix them (except the air rifles thank Gawd!). They are out there. Mostly held by the reserve units the cadets are housed at. Just guessing tho really.

Neither should be firing their FNs though. They are out of the system now. Smelted except for a few museum pieces and the few rifles that units havent gotten around to turning in. There are no more parts or anything. Thats why I suspenct this is an unqualified user... tinkering.

You got to exuse me. I suffer from the dreaded ..................."Sometimers."
I forgot about that with the .22. those were a neat little kit though. The mags always looked funny with the .22 in them.
I wish he would get back on and tell us what it was.

I don't believe the usa has banned fn/fal rifles from private ownership yet and they may even let people shoot them things too:eek:

Good point, but I think the starter of the thread with the FN problem is in Manitoba.

There are lots of FN FAL / L1A1 rifles right here in CANADA :canadaFlag: in private ownership, we just cant fire them :(

I hope that he gets the technical assistance that he needs with his FAL. But the question remains: How is he firing it in Canada? SAPs were ended almost 2 years ago. I would love to find a way to legally take mine to the range again.

I just picked up a complete kit a couple months ago....wasn't priced too bad. :)

From the sounds of some of dirty santa's posts, he is likely a grandfathered owner somewhere here in Manitoba. There are other (legal) ways to fire these guns....I'm sure he is using one of them.

They also use Anschutz rifles....

thats good news .... now the cadets should dump those daisy 853c and have the cadets all train and compete with the anschutz.

About what you would pay for a Ishapore FN in decent shape. In fact it wasn't even that bad, as the guy traded for bayonets and stuff. I think I had to anti up about $80 to make things even.
Nice thing is it's an origional Cdn issue, with a Cdn marked barrel and all matching numbers. Many of the kits I have seen had the replacement H&K barrels with them.
Only thing it was missing was the contents list, and I have one of those coming.

The Daisy gets them shooting more often in my experience. It can be shot indoors on an easy to put up and take down range....unlike the Anshutz & C No 7.

Just perhaps there are souls out there who don't know FN's have to be registered and can't be shot,, maybe it's a question from several years ago,, i wish I could just give my opinion but,, probably would just get shot down... Right KOLDT???;)

It would be wise for the person to plead the Fifth before he says something he would regret later.

im talking about the anshutz air that use the same .177 pellet, same as the one in my avatar, not the anshutz .22 , the rifle intially cost more but after that, it doesnt cost that much more to operate indoors.

Sorry, my bad....it's Anschutz .22 LR that they use. Only air rifle they use is the Daisy.....

so they are not replacing the daisy with anschutz air , bummer ...

edited : anchutz air is a far superior rifle than the daisy , the daisy 853c are junk IMHO.
