Hi all I was wondering if one may own an FN FAL in Canada? or are all varients classed as prohibited? Many thanks!!

Prohibited. Unless you have 12.5, 12.2 or 12.3 on your licence, forget it.

There's always deactivated FN's, better than nothing...

You can't fire them anyway, not much difference. So yes, you can own one...

What really p*s me off is the fact that there are fire arms on there that's noting more than a semi auto rifle which if not deemed prohibited buy some idiot will be restricted. Case in point the PSG1 its noting more that a semi auto rifle but its a variant of the G3 so its a no go. Exact same as a Dragunov

I do! I do! I even have a British SUIT sight and a reduced scale Figure 11 taped to the wall which I fire "militia practice ammo" at from time to time, but it is just not the same.
