The ammo wasn't allowed to be imported before, but it is now, as far as I know.
Maybe they stopped allowing it to be imported again?

This is because the Five Seven shoots a somewhat armour piercing round.

As far as I know ammo is not approved here because it is armor piercing. You can own the firearm under a 12(6) license, but not the ammo.

I was under the impression that there was one type of ammunition that's okay for it.

I thought that any ammo that be could be run thru a PS 90 could be used.

Just viewed some of the regular factory loaded ammo without the armour piercing bullet at Cabelas in Dundee,Michigan on Jan.5/07 and the price per 50 rounds alone keeps me away from it($30.00 U.S.). I was under the impression that NEW prohibs were no longer being imported into Canada and that FN 5.7 by virtue of mag. capacity is a definite prohib.Topic of buying one seems somewhat moot at this point. N'es pa?

There are two FiveseveN pistols to be had.
Why would a large capacity magazine make it a prohib? Does not the Glock 17 have a 17rnd mag? Can it not be pinned to ten?
You can buy a Fiveseven if you want to pay almost $2,000 Cdn. Some SGN'rs already have one.

I presume the mags have been altered for 10 rd max and no A.P bullet,correct?

There are rounds for soldiers and policemen and another for civilians. I will buy either the Tavor or the FiveseveN. I'm waiting to hear if the Tavor is truly coming in.

SS196 and 197 are legal for civi purchase, and the pistol itself is only restricted.
