Brought this home from the store yesterday. First off, let me start off by saying how unbelievably light this handgun is.
Weighing in at 21 ounces, or 1.36 lbs unloaded, magazine in, this is the single lightest fullsize handgun I have ever handled.
To put that in perspective, a fullsize 1911 is close to 45 ounces, or 2.5lbs, and the lightweight Glock measures in at 30 ounces, still 50% more then the Five-seveN.
Fit and finish of this gun seems to be superb upon close inspection, as you would expect from a firearm in this price range. The grip texture is good and aggressive for those hot and sweaty days where you really want a good grip on your firearm.
The sights are good, adjustible for both windage and elevation, and the trigger pull, while it does have a moderate takeup, has a superb break, better then most polymer pistols I have tried on the market.
The gun shipped with three factory 10 round mags, which is nice seeing as I will likely be hard pressed to find more. The other nice thing about them is they did not plastic weld the followers on, so if I ever shot a match in the states, all I would need to do would be to pop off the follower and get a larger follower and spring. The gun, when not pinned, can hold 20 within the grip. You can also get a 30 round follower instead, which protrudes only about an inch below the gun. Serious firepower from an incredibly lightweight package.
Feeding should be inherently reliable too, there is no feedramp, just as with the P90, due to the bottleneck cartridge. My P90 has never had a single malfunction of any kind...ever, so I am hoping for the same kind of reliablity with this firearm.
Overall, I am already very happy with this purchase, and am looking forward to testing it out.

The field strip is super easy too, with only three parts, the frame, the slide, and the barrel. (The recoil spring is captured in design, so it can not be lost).
Pull the slide back about 3/4", and depress the takedown lever.
When you let the slide forward, it pops right off the top.
Then you simply pull the barrel out from the bottom of the slide. Easy as pie.
Here is a closeup of the barrel and the recoil spring.
And for those of you who have never seen a 5.7x28mm cartridge, here is is compared between a 9mm and a .223.
My stache of ammo to feed both the Five-seveN and my P90... and yes, I am a hoarder...
