That looks fantastic!! What do you have for an optic and flashlight and what do you think of them?

the red dot is a Bushnell trs-25 (cheap but works, I run them on almost all of my guns), the light is an Inforce, and then I have a lasermax on the other side of the receiver. There's no real need for a light or laser as its a range toy. The gun is fantastic I've had no issues with it at all.

How do you find the height over bore? I’ve found rail options in the US to lower it, but nothing in Canada. I’ve just purchased one of this last shipment of 16” barrels and am torn between the 10” barrel and the NR option. Either way Im going to be contacting Ian, he sure did a great job with your rifle!

I actually prefer the higher height as I'm 6"1' so its easier for me to see through the red dot. My friend has a low profile mount on his and I can't use his red dot at all. Wait till you have it in your hands and see what you like. My rail has the see through irons on it which I do like to use every once in a while so I wouldn't want to give that up anyways. I prefer the 10" barrel as it just feels better in your hands and lookers better, the 16" barrel felt awkward so I can't even imagine what the 18.5" barrel would be like. I fully understand why people would want it as a non redistricted tho. Ian is great he did the barrel swap and had it on the way back to me the same day he received it.... Stock up on as much ammo as you can, it can be difficult to find at times. Give it a few months and you will own a five-seven pistol as well if you don't already have one.

I sure appreciate all the information! I’m 6’2” so I’m looking forward to trying it out with the trs-25 as I think I have one of them on an AR that’s now out of use. I’ve had a Five-Seven Pistol for 3 years and love it. Now it’s time to order some magazines!

do you have to deal with getting an att when sending to a gunsmith? never done it before..

If you are bringing it directly to a gun smith then I believe an ATT isn't required, but if you are mailing it to one then you need an ATT to the post office. I may be wrong its been a couple years.

No problem, its a fantastic gun... If you plan on keeping the brass casings I do recommend getting the brass catcher for it, its bottom ejecting so you will be stepping on and crushing them. Stick with the FN mags for it, the aftermaket mags are garbage.

Is it possible for you to get non restricted barrels in?

I spoke with both North Sylva (importer) and FN at taccom last year when they annouced they will be bringing these in to Canada. FN stated that they will not be making non restricted barrels for them and North Sylva said that its not possible on their end. If you want a non restricted barrel for on IAN at Herron Arms produces and installs non restricted barrels for these. You will have to purchase the restricted then have one installed.

Did you get one done? How'd it go?

I'd rather convert it to the proper 10.4" barrel as it was originally designed to be. The long 18.5" barrel just makes no sense.

The sense is that it's non restricted, and can be fired anywhere. Also that it becomes non registered, in case that becomes important to Billy.

Also you can get the 10.4" barrels from irunguns.
