Fn ps90

So the question remains! Has anyone tried to import an FN Ps90 from a European Country with success? If so! from who, how much did it cost and is it still possible to do so? As far as I know the only person to order one from Europe did it direct from FN in Belgium. But he lied to FN and I’m sure he forged paperwork along the way as well. This is the same individual with the famous US group by which worked out so well!

We know the Ps90 is legal in Canada all we need is to find a willing exporter from some other country besides the US. And that’s the million dollar question!:runaway:

I don't think anybody has tried, because nobody knew. I think there was a general understanding that the FS2000 and the PS90 were only availbe in the US until it was mentioned by a European board member.

^^ I think the answer is yes, THEY make the rules, if they put non-res on your AR15 certificate, then I guess you can hunt with it, since THEY classified it as non-restricted.

Just because a bureaucrat makes a mistake on a piece of paper doesn't allow someone to commit criminal acts without repercussions.

If a coroner somehow mistakingly issued a death certificate bearing your wife's name, does it give you legal protection to kill her?

Anyone know of an Euro dealer that will export to Canada or a Euro dealer that has a webpage with stock shown?

ht tp://www.armes-cornet.com/catalogues.htm

They are a Belgium based company with export services. Their website lists a lot of guns but I didn't see any PS90 or FS2000 products. You would have to call and ask (assuming you speak French of course.)

No....but if it is issued by the CFC and the Cheif Firearms Officer of the province who "Know what they are doing".....AND are in charge of all issuing of official certificates then you could certainly make a case of it in court if you were busted.

I want a PS90

It's an interesting point - because of the absolute authority to grant exceptions that rests with the CFO. The real problem with the laws as I see them is that they are almost entirely at the whim of the CFO. Unless you're grandfathered you can't have a full auto, right? - well maybe, because the CFO can exempt you from the legislation as being "one of a class of persons authorized to posess (use, transport, carry, import)" If the CFO exempts something from a regulation it IS in fact exempt. It would be an interesting case, because you could argue that since the registration was issued by the CFO and it says Non-Restricted, that you assumed it was an exempt firearm under the authorization of the CFO.

You could try to make a case but I can guarantee you would lose it. Just because they're in charge of something doesn't mean a bureaucrat can't make a mistake.

Besides, the firearms act specifically make it your onus to report incorrect information that appears on your registration certificates. There's no exception for "assuming it's an exception". You have to report the error and let them SPECIFICALLY tell you if it's an exception.

Loose in what way? They could not jail or penalize you for doing what you believed was legal according to your registration certificate, they could ammend your certificate after you were caught and make you abide by the firearms new clasification.

Exactly. Absolute authority to exempt and re-class.

1) and I quote "ignorance of the law is not a defence"
2) you would lose
3) it would be ridiculously expensive while you were losing.

just not worth it.

Quite the opposite argument: I know that a CFO can exempt on his/her own authority, the rifle is shown to be classified differently on a document from the CFO - how is this ignorance of the law?

The issue with the PS90 is that FN Herstal will tell you to get it from FNH, USA who will tell you they'd love to sell you one but the US DoS won't allow them to export it.
