Does anyone have information on the status of the FS2000 or the FN PS90. Also the HK G36 and SL8-5...are the trigger groups interchangeable and for that matter the rest of the parts.

New Part to this Post

So for all of those who posted and had grand suspiscions I am up to "no good" or I am shill for the RCMP or WTF I would just like to say that I spent time in our military a while ago and prefer military rifles. I also remember that when i had questions before from members with the same interest there was no such thing as a stupid question for a Newbie.

So next time (not bloody likely) that I have a question, I will research the hell out of it and answer it myself before asking a bunch of arrogant know it alls like yourselves (You know who you are!) Thanks for the warm welcome.

Thanks

Some FN2000 and P90's have been imported, but they don't have a distributor here yet (or ever).

I believe the SL8-5 is going out of production, so the question is somewhat moot, but some small parts will interchange. The trigger groups almost certainly will not, although it is possible that some individual parts can be swapped for repair.

The US would not have allowed the SL8 for import at all if the reciever would accept it's full auto cousin's trigger group.

The G36 trigger group is NOT interchangeable with the SL-8, the two recievers aren't even similar.

I don't have a picture of my SL-8 so I can't compare the two for you.

Yeah, 1st POST...First question.................almost like it was planned:)

I'm legal and law abiding...nothing to hide kids...move along now.

A question like that (first post) from a newbe after the Rapid Fire series is bound to raise suspicions of no good. Perhaps severus should elaborate a little and give us an idea of what he/she wants to do. BTW if there ever was a text book example of trolling........I think that would be it. So let them have fun feeding the troll.

The other guys bring up a good point. Of the rifles you've listed, the following are actually prohibited: FN2000 and FN90. These are prohibited because they are only manufactured with full auto or burst settings. It should be common knowledge that unless you already own full auto firearms, there's simply no way you'll ever own them. The G36 however is manufactured as a semi-auto and is capable of being imported. However, the German gun laws do not allow its export. The one legal shippment that came in to Canada was a bit of a mess and is unlikely to ever be repeated.

So, to answer your question the status of these rifles is "no go". BTW, that trigger swap question is a bit silly. You should know better than to ask questions about illegal practices. One would think you're up to something, and you can bet the RCMP watch sites like CGN looking for people up to no good.

There are legal versions of both the FN2000 and P90 which are in limited numbers and not readily imported.

And as for G36 triggers there is nothing illegal about them aslong as you are using single fire ones like in those that where imported. Not all trigger packs for G36 are machinegun.

Wow, what a bunch of ruthless characters. MY MISTAKE . I meant the FS2000 and the PS90. I asked bout the G36 and SL8 because you can get semi G36 trigger groups and I think the SL-8 stock is pretty poor looking. I just happen to like military as I was in the military quite a while ago and I am just getting back into this.

Strangeyday...Thank you for answering my questions. This is exactly what i needed to know. I really appreciate it.

If your G36 is ever for sale, I am a buyer.

If you put a wanted add here on CGN you could probably find G36's and UMP's for sale. But beware they go for close to and sometimes over 6000$.

No...it's not a 6k gun....

Yep, there was a G36K up for sale couple weeks ago. Guy wanted $6000. The G36 is NOT a 6k gun IMHO.

It's 6k plus. If you want one....thats what they cost. As there are only so many that will ever be in country the market dictates the price.

The same with the FS2000..........There are 5 in Canada and with the rumour I hear it's gonna stay that way for a long time. I've already been offered $4500.00 for mine.

They'd be a lot less if guys like YOU didn't have that kind of cash to readily give up on a 2K firearm! ;)

I guess the other option.....
