I know there is ALOT of difference between the two. But I am debating getting one or the other and can't seem to make up my mind. The price difference doesn't mean anything to me as I went the best rifle I can get.

The factors I am looking for is, Reliability, accuracy(I don't need all the holes to be within half an inch of each other, just accurate enough for plinking, hunting, etc), availability of spare parts, magazines, aftermarket stocks, durability, etc.

Just which gun overall is a better rifle, all factors considered?

Any input would be very valued. thanks!

Fnar more accurate , ugly, mag expensive. painful to disassemble

lrb more reliable, easy to disassemble , mag cheap, more stock option , aftermarket etc..... beautiful

lrb in a sage EBR hum ,.,,, that's a real gun ;)

LRB M25 tanker... My dream M14 but was disappointed it couldn't do MOA. Best you'll get is 1.5-2Moa with match.

I'd say the FN is the better bang for $$ and I'm a LRB fan!

What are you doing with it ? My vote lrb

I just want a semi auto 308 rifle that is very reliable and accurate enough to hunt with/plink. If I can hit a 10X10 gong consistently at 600 yards I am happy. Dependability is my number one priority so long as its accurate enough to hit a 10x10 steel gong at 600 yards.

Hands down the Lrb find one used and see if you like it if you don't pay the postage to sell it and get your money back. I think the mags are cheaper as well. The iron sights are also free and the best not that I've seen the fnar in person. Resale of an fnar will probably loose you some as I've seen a couple linger on the EE for a long while. Also you can run that cheap 762x51 xm80 stuff through it and get the full accuracy out of the ammo as it's matched with the rifle pretty well on par. It looks ###ier but the ergonomics are not as good as an fnar. There isn't that nostalgia though that's why I own a national match it just looks and feels right. The wood is so ###y and it feels right. The best gun is the one you yourself can shoot the best and that works for you. If you don't like everything about your lrb you can change it put a new stock on it muzzle break ect. Scope mount scope. God platform to learn on and understand the basics as you can change out a lot and the breakdown is pretty easy.
Cheers ps if it where me I'd buy the best deal on whatever you find fnar or not and buy it shoot it decide if you like it if not sell

You're looking at 2 pretty different price ranges of rifles. The added cost of the LRB isn't buying you more precision (in the basic versions) it's just buying you a better machined/produced version of a M14-type rifle like a M305/M14S or a Springfield M1A. Purchased in the same configuration, the LRB won't really shoot any better than the springer or the norc although it won't have any of the production issues those 2 tend to have as the LRBs are expertly assembled/built. Where you get added precision with a M14-type rifle is when you get into the national match type modifications, match grade heavy or med weight barrels, bedded stock/chassis. That being said, an LRB with every possible accuracy modification won't necessarily shoot any better than a springer or norc with the same mods. The cost of the LRB is the forged receiver (with the built-in rail for the M25) that is made in the States vs investment cast in Quebec(Springfield) or forged by chicom shop students (Norinco), the fitted USGI or LRB US-produced parts vs parts made in Taiwan (Springfield) or made in the PRC (Norc). Basically the LRB is a piece of machined beauty but unless you buy one that has all the accuracy mods done, it probably won't be as accurate as the FNAR. You can probably get a super accurate Springfield Super Match for the same price as a basic LRB.
