most of the FN C1A1 bolt i saw are stainless steel but this one i have is park.

i wonder whats the point of going thru that extra expense? its gonna be covered by the carrier anyway. :confused:

the FNC1A1 bolts were not made of stainless steel but ordance steel and left in the white there for they were abled to be parkerized
 
An FN breech block could have gotten coloured for a plethora of reasons. That one doesn't look like parkerizing though. In any case, C1A1's weren't parkerized. They were black phosphated. Same idea using different chemicals.

ahhh yes, i forgot , its phosphated, i get those two confused. thanks.

Black breech block

Ditto, here.

I've seen a few black C1 breech blocks in my time, and with no rhyme or reason. Other Wpns Techs I talked to didn't have an answer to this question either.
