AND to make things worse tonight on tactical arms MR vickers had to go rub FN FAL salt on my wounds ...

would it be wrong of me to say i really think we need to petition to have these removed on historical significance grounds .

Nice job! I'd move the ammo and stuff in the bottom left, then the big ass scope and long mag all to the left a little, they're crowding the badge.

I turn 50 this year too. The first centrefire rifle I ever shot was the FN back when doing SYEP in Sydney in 79. Please pass on my warmest regards to your son. I was CO back from 2004 to 2007 and I've since moved on to teaching Staff School out of Kingston ON.

I'd love to own and shoot an FN but with Canadian laws written by morons, the closest I have is shooting my Norinco M14 - still a battle rifle and still 7.62 but not the same as an FN. Mind you, it's easier to clean.

Will do Sir! He was at the Armouries in HFX tonite! I was there too, back in 1980-81, lol.:canadaFlag:

2 things a politician could do to have the undying love of a whole generation of gunnutz;

1) Make the Rifle 7.62mm FN (C1A1) and variants non-restricted
2) Allow qualified shooters access to CF Ranges when using rifles of appropriate calibre.

I have a live Canadian C1A1 listed in the EE now. If there was even a hint of a reversal on it's status, the ad would be off there in about 1/2 a second.

I saw, and and almost cried when I saw it there. That rifle is a legend, and I have wanted one for years. It is an absolute travesty that we (well, most anyways) cannot own a piece of Canadian history.

On another note, it has been mentioned in the past that people wish that the FN FAL series was removed from its prohibited nature because of its historical significance. Why don't we write a petition? I know its silly and probably won't work, but why not give it a shot?

Write something along the lines of how it is not only a piece of Canadian history, but a piece of world history. From the Falklands to Vietnan the FN FAL stood as a symbol against tyranny and oppression and was rightly called the right arm of the free world. Ok that took me 30 seconds to come up with, but I a sure someone can do better. So who wants to give it a shot?

Sounds like my years in a DCRA affiliated club 30 years ago. Throw in the appropriate service ammo as well for our Rifles and our pistols in DND approved courses of fire, as it was.
We were a country that was suppose to keep our civilian population famaliar with our Military Pattern Rifles, their operations and the marksmanship to go along with it. These people could be called upon in times of conflict, or most would volunteer as we were a Country of Volunteer Soldiers in both World Wars, and one of the important parts of being an Infantryman was already taken care of ,"rifle marksmanship":agree:.

I think I'm done for the night. Got to go to work tomorrow.

I've changed the font to match what is on the rifle. Did a little shadow thing on the title, and the badge.

Fn c1 poster

Awesome poster perhaps you can include the M-67 frag grenade and the sheet metal adapter, projector grenade M1A2 that slides over the launcher and a black tipped ballisite launching round also the smoke grenade and its cone cupped projector that was similar, don't remember the nomaclature. Never came across the M-21 HEAT grenade used in the CF but as it was a NATO stock numbered item I am sure it was available in war time. Must have this poster! Total artistry!

MILES lazer, basically a laser-tag type of system used in training. You fire blanks and this thing "shoots" ou a laser beam. Everybody wears sensors on their kit which allows "hits" to be recorded.

I do have to ask as im not 100% familiar with these , what is that wierd piece of kit just above the barrel ? kind of resembles a laser dealy .

Here's a question too. Is that a MILES laser or is it the old SIMFIRE we used to use on the FN back in the 80s? MILES is a trade/product name and not a generic term for laser simulation.

One question seeing theres so many:canadaFlag: FN C1 users here.In a post awhile back, someone asked about a funky cave man character on the cardboard packages the early 70s 5 round IvI strippers of 7.62NATO were in. Did anyone see or answer his question? I can't find the post anymore.
thanks.
