Hey guys so as we all know, Christmas time is approaching and I'm looking to treat myself to a new pistol. I have been making a decent amount of disposable income so I figured I'd look at a novelty pistol. You know, pistols like the DE .50 that we have just because we can. I just wanted some opinions on this pistol as I see that they are readily available in Canada. I have a local guy in town that sells and can manufacture the ammunition for it so ammo isn't a concern for myself. I like the fact that this pistol is very light and has very little recoil since my girlfriend likes to come out and shoot once in a while but she doesn't like anything above 9mm.

Anything views or opinions because I seal the deal on one of these would be great! Also, are these made in Belgium like the FS and PS series, or are they made in the states? Thanks guys!

There's internet rumor that the FN FiveSeven can fire out of battery and lead to something like this:

I fondled one of the older models that was for sale used in my town. It was one of the double action models and didn't feel to bad. Kind of want to fondle a newer model before buying but they're hard to come by.

lol! Thats 1.3k gone! On a serious note, how was the shooters hand?

Pretty mangled from what I read. Had to go into surgery to have 5 or 6 pieces of shrapnel removed and "use nerve tissue from the leg to repair the severed nerves to the thumb and outside palm area."

Some other guy posted a youtube video where he showed that the FiveSeven can fire OOB.

I had similar thoughts regarding the 5.7mm but bought a .22Mag instead. It is the Ruger convertable that shoots .22LR and .22Mag. Not as ###y as the 5.7 but similar ballistics, lower cost ammo. Paper does't know the difference. The .22Mag ammo isn't cheap where I buy it, almost the same as 9mm on sale. My piece has a 6 or 6.5 inch BBL. and it shoots nice, accurate too. There is also the PMR-30 Kel-Tec that is out there.
