The question about FN products in Canada comes up periodically around here. The problem seems to be that there is no Canadian distributor for FN right now. Some stuff comes in here and there, but nothing systematic.
The other problem is that these guns have 4 inch (102mm) barrels, and a firearm has to have a barrel length greater than 105mm to come into the country.
The FNH USA webpage shows a whole swack of FNP guns in 9, 40 and 45.

The FNP in .45 Auto has a 4 1/2 inch (114mm) barrel, so this one should be no problem to bring into Canada. Now we just need a distributor.
There is a Canadian distributor for Browning and there are (or were?) Browning guns that are exactly the same, called the Pro-9 and the Pro-40, but these are not on the North American Browning website for 2007:

But the International Browning site still shows the Pro-9.

You still have the problem of the short barrel though. One of the guys at a shop here in Vancouver that is a Browning dealer was telling me that he has been trying to convince the distributor to presure FN to come out with some 106mm Pro-9 and Pro-40 pistols. He feels they could sell tons of them. So far no luck.
I think the original idea was that the FNP was to be marketed to police and military agencies, and Browning to civies. I think we can all agree that the FNP is a lot cooler... so maybe FN has clued into that and has decided to market the FNP to everyone. There have been a lot of adds in U.S. gun magazines lately for the FNP.
This website has some good pictures of the guns:
