From a customer service representative at FOC:

"We are aware of the issue and it has been rectified. A formal statement will be released today, the statement will explain the situation in greater detail."

Where’s the dip#### that was saying that he was a retail expert and that this couldn’t happen and that we were all buying ####o.
Can’t wait to see what he has to say.

There are ways to hack these terminals especially if they are wireless. Also simply by getting an adapter into one of the computers. I know people steal terminals because the chipsets inside can be used to tap into the wireless frequency of other terminals nearby.

Try and pay cash. Or subscribe to instant notification on your phone to any purchases made using your credit card app if you have one

Pound Me Too. Do we know if it was online stores or the RCMP website that was compromised? I renewed my license online with the same credit card I make pew pew purchases with.

Oh lord that stress must be insane. RCMP won't even bother to call you if the info is incorrect and throw it aside. I suggest you try to call RCMP and use another card. You might even possibly be able to do the reissue request on the spot.

This happened to me during pandemic and it delayed my application 2 months

They ask you when they call you if the credit card is still valid, at least they did for me.

luckily my cc caught those guys trying to buy canada goose clothes and the other ones were a online restaurant and amazon stuff. i might add that i discovered it while surfing not by receivng an email despite having 200 customers got that ...

that was my last purchase with foc ...

Thats disheartening, just made a first purchase with them. Will need to keep an eye out now. It's certainly not worth dealing with a retailer if theres this sort of risk

You need to call your credit card company and cancel the card ASAP! don't stand and hope for them to not use it. Call and change BEFORE and save yourself a headache.

Lucky Mobile phone cards as a test then $10k worth of airline tickets after an FOC purchase three and a half months ago.

CC company reversed the charges and sent me a new card, but that's a lot of stress and 4 hours on the phone I won't get back.

I now have an 'online only' card that I lock via my banking website or app, then unlock it to make a purchase and lock it again after the purchase goes through.

Same issue a couple of years ago with X-Reload. I won't be dealing with either company again, particularly X-Reload who denied any issue.

I shopped at tenda last nite. The same day i got charged 150 in Qc

Interesting. Same here. They first attempted a very small purchase at a Quebec Home Depot, $3.24, then not one but two significant purchases at what turned out to be a beauty parlor in Quebec.

I am starting to think that the government databases have been compromised or even worse they are targeting us as firearm owners.

I want to remind you that a group of hackers were the ones to release the list of the freedom convoy donators. These people were then harassed by global news employees as if this hacked list is proof of their involvement. The dontators could have been hacked like we were but global only had the intention of shaming them and scaring them to not support any movement like this again. Where do you think those orders came from ?

So in summary, "hackers" were able to break into "secure" platforms like GoFundMe and then leaked every single supporters' name to the whole world, at which point, Canada's main media station, arguably a front for this fake coup communist "government" we call the Trudeau administration then started harrasing these people.

Does this sound familiar ? Only question to ask yourself; are these a holes really capable of doing this ? You decide ;)

SECURITY UPDATE

In October of 2022, we were informed by VISA that there was a security issue on our website resulting in the fraudulent use of credit cards that affected up to 200 clients spanning a four-month period prior. We recognize the severity of this breach and respect your critical right to privacy and confidence in using our platform. Immediate and urgent actions taken have been successful in rectifying this.

A thorough PCI investigation was outsourced to a security firm who conducted a full audit on our website, the scope of which scrutinized our website’s firewall, coding, and remote access and activity logs. The findings revealed a vulnerability in our payment module that had been exploited to allow malware to record credit card information during Checkout.

We want to assure you that, as of 07 Nov, the vulnerability has been patched, and our online security has been upgraded. We have hired a dedicated company that will provide their firewall services to us ongoing, which includes 24/7 monitoring and alerting of potential malicious web activity, and to continually ensure that we are PCI-compliant.

We have been assured that the focus of the malware attack had been on credit card information specifically, and that no other critical personal data points had been targeted.

During this ordeal, many of you have reached out to us and provided personal experiences and information that have aided greatly in achieving resolution. Your collective willingness to offer support despite the exigent circumstances is humbling. To all those affected by fraudulent uses of your credit card, and all who faced the prospect of its exposure, we are abjectly and sincerely sorry.

Your privacy, security, and trust are of utmost importance to us, and its breach is regretful and something we take very seriously. We have taken the lessons learned from this experience and applied them to continue growing and serving you in the future.

President

Thieves are getting so sophisticated. I support and encourage the buttrising and monitoring of your firewall, I would also suggest you allow a 3rd party payment strategy such as P@yP@l or the like. With the way government legislation is going, our anonymity and security is becoming paramount.

They hit me 3 times for a total of just under 250 and still were able to keep everything under my credit limit. Has anyones card been charged over the limit?

You clearly have ZERO idea how a computer or network works. This is the fastest way of saying "I'm over 60" without actually saying it.

Their website was compromised which corresponds to the database in their end. Not on your computer. Oh god what a place where the uneducated can "educate " others

It might not be the vendor, credit card fraud is rampant everywhere, they are even now cashing in points like PC point or Canadian Tire points. Not in the best interest of any vendor for culpable on line fraud. Mostly a a business will use third party payment handler for online purchases. When you pay with c/c at home depot it registers the transaction even before your card hits the machine.
