FOC creditcard fraud?

It happened to me to $3800 USD. Multiple tries on my credit card from Texas, Toronto, Hamilton, NYC, and Florida

CanadaAmmo just reported a fake scam site, "CanadaAmmoShop. com" using their business name. Funny how the fake web site has a bogus address in Ajax, ON, that is right across the street from FOC store with many victims complaining of CC fraud from FOC at the same time. Wonder if there is a connection to this scam and the fake web site posting a suspicious address next to FOC store?

unreal!

nice catch

WTF is going on

firearms outlet needs to start speaking up

i wish for all waiting transfer or shipping that everything will go smoothly. lucky i got mine but i got a credit card fraud as others and that will be the last operation with that outfit ...

The overarching problem of course is the nefarious on the Dark Web now have a template they will follow as it's proven profitable. They have found that there is a whole group of individuals who have expendable resources and all that need to be done is hack a firearms outfitter and sell the cc info on the web.

Needless to say, I haven't bought anything with my "new" cc since this fiasco.

Are mods/site owners going to weigh in at any point or is it just Kosher that when you spend money with a site sponsor you get your CC compromised?

I just happened to see this... This solves a big mystery! I've had credit card fraud twice recently. Bought from FOC for the first time, got one fraud incident, changed card, bought from FOC again, got another fraud incident + a new card again. Has someone spoken to the RCMP yet?

I suggest everyone calls their bank and phone carriers to add a verbal password to your accounts. Also change your 2fa method on as many things as possible to something other than your cell phone...

After having my credit card compromised with Apple charges after shopping at FOC, I was targeted with something called a sim swap scam.

If you have never heard of it like me at the time, I suggest you watch a YouTube video on it.

It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with it and I really hope others can learn from my experience and protect themselves.

I was also the victim of a sim card swap. Nightmare is being polite. Fortunately, in my instance the bank manager actually caught the guy as he attempted to withdraw funds from my bank accounts (I'm in Ontario, this incident happened in Quebec). The bank contacted me via my wifes phone...they called him back (on my cell number) and told him they could now release the funds. The dummy shows up at the bank and the cops are waiting for him. I hope they lock him up for a very, very, long time. I hope he contracts Covid while in prison and if he gets butt raped by a large inmate, well...par for the course.

All online?
I wonder if going instore does the same?

That's kind of a bold statement , seeing as there are such things as slander laws on the books !

Slander has to be false, no? They admitted that they were notified by the credit card processor for a breach in their security, they didn’t notify any of their customers and continued selling online with the same payment processor.

Obviously you need to look up the definition of slander.

slan·der
/ˈslandər/
Learn to pronounce
nounLAW
the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation.

Their own admission in this thread removed any threat of slander.

I would go as far as saying the fact CGN still allows FOC as a sponsor makes CGN as an accomplice.

FOC should be stripped away off the sponsor status. FOC knew the whole cc fraud ordeal back in Oct but they still ran various ads and promotions after that in here, never mentioned or warned the customers here.

F--k you FOC

With the amount of fraud happening, I am surprised that the card companies still allow transactions to be put through from FOC

As of today, my email address registered with FOC has been attempted a couple of times.
That email was for the purpose of PAL verification for purchase of NR firearms, which was also the same one registered with RCMP.
The attempts to login to my email were originated from Brampton and Buffalo, and both attempts failed.

I strongly urge each every single of you here to secure your email address asap, using 2fa either a backup email or cellphone text or an authenticator app on your phone.

FOC screwed us big this time. It's way more just CC info, it's everything, address, email, cc, PAL. You name it. F--k you again FOC

That’s what Was said but people jumped on FOC in defence.
Credit cards being opened in peoples name
Emails being hacked, sims being swapped.. multiple people saying someone was able to change their bank password and empty their accounts.. why the #### some people defend vendors I’ll never know. How much more proof does someone need than hundreds of separate accounts?

These idiots think some foreign entity hacked the credit card processor…

Your pal. Your email. Your address. Your phone. Your credit card and anything else you provided is compromised. Is on the dark web and is being used for nefarious things.
