I've read where your suppose to focus on the front sight but my glasses won't let me unless I shoot just with reading glasses or tilt head down to see head up to shoot. What do the rest of you do or is it all about practising with what you have to work with...Bob

Sucks getting old doesn't it. I use glasses that allow me to see the FS sharp and enough of the target to align the sight. It is a balancing act.

Best of luck

Brian

Yes it is. The last time I had a pistol I didn't have glasses. Even changing the heater fan in the car today was a pain in the ass trying to focus under the dash....Bob

With my aging eyes, I've found it's best to use non-corrected shooting glasses..
The front sight is far enough away to be in focus...as it should be...and the rear sight and target are pretty fuzzy...it seems to be the best compromise!

For new shooters, the theory is that; you forget about the rear sight(peep or V), concentrate on the front sight and your eye will automatically center things in the rear sight.

For old eyes, focus on the front sight and train yourself to align with the large fuzzy blob that used to be a target. There are glasses specialists who deal with just these type of problems, including a gent here in Edmonton. I haven't tried him out yet, but as the time for new specs is getting close, I think I will give him a whirl this time around. - dan

The next time out I will try my reading only glasses. If I shoot single handed the front sight is clear but with a two handed grip as for CDPA the sight is fuzzy. Its time for a new perscription so I'll look into glasses that fit this need. Thanks for the help....bob
