Fog testing scopes?????

I just found this on a site. Talk about EXTREME!!!

The last (and most demanding) test is a trial by fire, you might say. The scope is heated to 140 degrees for one hour then immediately put in the deep freeze for 8 hours. If the scope doesn’t fracture or fog up, it’s a keeper. If the reviewer cracks up, that’s another story.

freezing the scope is one thing but freezing and then running it under warm water will cause some of the scopes materials to expand at a very high rate (and others will not expand as fast). I have done the freeze thing and then take it out and look for water/fog on the inside . I figure that is pretty close to going into a humid hunting tent after a day in the cold woods.
