Well, I went out with Boat to the CHAS range today to play with my SKS and Cooey, and a fellow CGNer who opted not to identify himeself was out with his 858. He had epoxied a rail for a handgrip into the forestock (real slick touch, I might add) and had a folder installed... Well, folders are NOT for me. That rifle kept kicking me in the nose. I think I'm either going to stick with the fixed wood stock when I get around to buying mine, or I'm going see about having a longer folder made. Apart from that, the folders feel allright, they're just TOO DAMN SHORT!

That's all I had to rant about :D

And my SKS needs a longer stock too. it's shorter than my Cooey by about an inch and a half.

I don't think the folder on the VZ is any shorter then the fixed stock. It's the angle of the comb that makes it bust you in the face when firing, fixed stock does it too.

I didn't have a problem with Throttle Monkey's fixed stock. You're most likely right on the comb thing though. I suppose I'm just a fan of really long stocks :p

I find the composite stock to short for me as well, but I just snug up to it. I have never felt 7.62x39 kick at all so i dont get any face/cheek issues.
