Folding 3030 single shot rifle

Was also thinking about foldable shotgun with possibly barrel liner. I can’t remember but mca might make an adapter that’s in 3030 but have to check again as I have a 22 hornet for 12 g

I have a nice $200 (!) Turkish single shot in 12 Ga currently getting the stock oil finished. One solid and lightweight folder. You can get a variety of calibre inserts, but accuracy isn't great.

I'd have such a hard time choosing a cartridge for this gun. Be short range, so maybe .444. I'm a huge 45/70 fan, but it doesn't seem right. Maybe .35 or .400 Whelen?

They are just like Skittles, as far as barrels go! Easy to change out, so run them all!

The TC is an ugly gun anyways, might as well lean into it. I like the folder

The multi leaf express sight, fibre optic front and muzzle break are just a cherry on top for the insanity

Hey now... no one said anywhere it had to win any beauty contests!?. A feller could strip all of that shrapnel off if he wished, or hell, he could add even more, too. They have even been spotted with the trigger guard spur ground off.
Keith will have to let us know what he thinks, but the accuracy will be there more than any insert.

I’ve thought of becoming a TC guy but I feel like it would rapidly turn into an addiction with piles of barrels, dies and projectiles

Doesn’t stop me keeping my eyes open for a 500 S&W Kahtadin carbine though. I have half a box of factory ammo and some handloads so really that would be a money saving enterprise

Not sure how great it would work, but you could get a single shot 410 folder, a 410 to 30-30 insert from nine35' site, and then epoxy it in the barrel. Drilled/tapped for scope rail. This would be a fun project if you ask me!

Yes you should do the tc encore and get at least a few barrels. And once that is done, sit back and think hmmm could I get that weight lower and bingo. Tc contender will pop in the mind and you can start the process of buying barrels again

I had a 21" barreled T/C Contender carbine in 30-30 shot a couple deer and a black bear with it then sent the barrel to Mike Bellm in the States he wildcatted it to his 308Bellm cartridge = 444 Marlin brass necked down using 308 Win dies gives me 2620fps with 150gr bullets.

I now also have another 30-30 barrel that was rechambered to 309JDJ haven't chronographed this barrel yet but it should give me appr 100fps faster.

I have a few turkish folding shotguns... short barrel variety. They are collectively responsible for the death of hundreds of grouse in the last few year, nvm rabbit, duck, goose etc. I keep them in a tactical scabbard on the side of my daypack and pull it out like Robin hood when needed. Always thought a rifle in a similar configuration would be slick. Especially if it was short, light, and cheap like those shottys.

The problem with single shot rifles nowadays is that they cost more and weigh more then bolt guns so they are superfluous. One of those folding type rifles would really be interesting.
