My friend had a su16 that on one frigid morning the receiver came apart like Lego. While that was un fortunate I do like the idea of a folding .223 rifle. Is there any others? Something magazine fed

Folding stocks might make a gun to short and still operable. A su16 can't be fired folded. Can a mini 14?

Sorry, you need to be a certified member of the A-TEAM, to fire the Mini-14 with the stock folded.

And they never hit anything anyways.... unless it was a cube van...broadside...at ten paces....but then you're talking a Mini -14 anyways.

Seriously though, of course it fires folded.

The SU-16 is the firearm that shoots a rifle cartridge that can be folded at the receiver that I can think of. The Sub-2000 is also made by Kel Tec and shoots pistol cartridges.

Other than that, as mentioned there are several guns that can be fitted with folding buttstocks.

Then there are some guns guns that are takedown, such as the Browning BLR.

Overall, the method of folding that the the SU-16 uses is not the most common, there are vastly more folding stock or takedown rifles on the market.
