Folding skeleton stock is black instead of dark blue - normal?

I just got an unused folding stock in the EE and it's pretty much black as opposed to the dark blue of the VZ 58. Is this normal?

Mine is same color as rifle . Sounds like someone painted the one you got . You can always paint it the same color .

Some of the very early 858's were a much darker blue paint - almost black, but I never have seen the same colour on a folder.

Search thru the 300+ pages, theres a particular diesel engine paint that matches, I cant recall off hand.

I've posted this before . If you want a exact match get a can of Cummins eng paint , Cummins service products # 3885911 color is called Cummins Bluke . Best to contact a Cummins eng dealer . You wont find it at a dodge dealer .

I couldn't agree more . Don't worry its a Cummins product . The only reason I mentioned dodge is because people have tried to get it there .

I found some on ebay for $9.00. Not sure they will ship to Canada though.

Thanks for the tip about Cummins. I was just there and got the paint for $11. Gonna paint it right now.

Got two coats of Cummins Bluke #3885911 on. It's a shade darker than the gun's finish, even on the white board I had the pieces on while painting them. Better than black though.

how opague did each layer spray on? do you think the black base coat influenced the finished shade?
