I was reading up on Butler Creek folding stocks and I noticed they say they take 12" off the overall length when folded, but the overall length listed on a 10/22 is 37", so with this stock isnt the firearm under the legal 660 mm (26 inches)?

If it has a factory 18.5" barrel, it just makes it over 660mm.
I think the situation you described it's because the BC stock has a longer LOP than the factory stock.

An 18 inch barrel is well over 26 inches.

I have a BC folder and a 16 inch barrel I had to weld a flash hider onto to make 26.25 inches.

I dont see why you would have to weld on the flashider. Flashiders apply to overall length regardless when it comes to rimfires and shotguns.

I got a folder too. I like it very much. Perfectly legal..... And unlike the folding stock of AK47, this doesn't ruin accuracy.

This is another example of utter BS. Regarding bullpup stocks, the same OAL rule (as with folding-stocks) should apply ; i.e. so long as the OAL is still within legal limits, the firearm should remain unrestricted - esp. if long barrel length means that it is still okay in terms of OAL.

Sigh.

Bullpups are mean, don't you know? If you let one wander around, it will breed all other stocks, and that would have as a result the blood line thinning of the monte carlo.... Now you understand the danger?

Well I tried the folder for my setup, but my new barrel is too short for it so I put it in the EE for 100$ if anybody wants it.

Sorry for the mismatch, as Dr Lector said, it is only long enough for the fatory bbl length. That probably explains the bulky-ness of the mechanism.

Honestly, after I handled that stock and hunted with it, I liked it so much that I'd change the bbl, not the folder.

Well I found it neat they include some tubing to put over the metal folder to it doesnt annoy the face. I figure I'll need this kind of stock if I get a mini 14 or something.
