I know this sounds like an oxy moron (or I do...the last part at least), but I 'd like your expert advice on choosing a folding precision rifle stock for Remington 700 .

Top Criteria are weight and price. Minimum aluminium pillar bedding. oh yeah, I have short arms so short LOP would help.

Current options are :

Manners TF1/TF2 folding composite stock = (heavy and pricey)
Choate Ultimate Sniper folding stock = (light at 3.5 lbs but discontinued ).
MDT LSS with folder adapter = ( light 1.6lbs for frame, but add stock , pistol grip etc. bonus Well-made in Canada, modular, but pricey... components start to add up lenth of pull a little long) .

I was curious, what kind of setup do you run or which would you choose and why ?

XLR Industries has a folding stock accessory (probably similar to the MDT one) so you can turn any one of their stocks into a folder.

Eberlestock has one of the most unique folders, but not cheap at all:

The stock folds forward of the grip to maximize the reduction in OAL when folded.

I'm thinking about getting a folder as well... all good options mentioned but look into the Mcree Precision Folding Chassis and Accuracy International AX Folding Chassis. No experience with any of them, just options I'm considering too.

I would go with the Manners, had an AICS 2.0 and it was heavy, Manners stocks are "top shelf" if they made a "lefty" folder, I'd have one, LOL. YMMV

The Eberlestock M11 Stealth is really nice but the price killed it dead which is a shame.

I had never seen it before, just did about an hours research on it.

Super cool piece of kit, it is actually the only chassis I have ever really liked, lots of smart features, but insanely expensive for what it is, very hard to justify.

I'll just go to home depot and grab a saw, a hinge, and some kind of clasp, and do a DIY mod to my HS precision stock... ;)

I have handled them in person. Beautiful stocks and extremely well made. So much machining though which drives up the cost. Plus I don't think they were shy with the markup.

Check out the cobra though. Not a folder but similar in design.

Ashbury chassis not cheap but outstanding design features, rock solid folding stock system...

I saw the Ashbury at SHOT 2013 and, yes, it is superb.

For a less painful (on the wallet) option I'd suggest AICS 2.0 unless PGW will sell you the one they use in their Coyote :)
