follower popping into action every time

Just picked up a DA Grizz 20 gauge for my wife. (impressed with the SG so far !)

Installed an S&J 20 ga. follower and every time I rack the action follower & spring pop into the action. Original follower worked fine.

What am I missing here ?

The Chinese copy of the 870 is not an exact copy in mag tube dimension I would imagine. Measure both followers and see.

It's been a while but does the follower have a pin or key bump on it that has to be twisted out of alignment (around 90 degrees) so it stays in the mag tube?

It does and I did think of that. Maybe I didn't get it turned enough.

That seems silly though on the receiver end because if this were the case and it managed to turn in use the malfunction would be unacceptable.

I'm still thinking it's too small though.

The follower is either undersized, as has already been stated or it's the wrong shape to be caught by the shell stops. Either way, it sounds like the original follower is the correct choice.

Would be nice if S&J would answer their darn e-mails .... one of the worst companies I've dealt with for getting back. It's been same every time I've contacted them, not just this order. Don't know how they get away with this ...

Well just found this thread..
Most times we get back to people with the same day some times not all of us around so somthing like this can only be answered by simon or james.
As we have said many times there is no one siting by the phone waiting for it to ring.
That is why we have dealers all over canada.
That said as many have seen you may get a replay from us at 11pm or 5am or anytime in between.
We were away at an event wed Thurs and we let me minions have the weekend off .silly labour laws and human rights getting in the way again..
