FOMO... price gouging... SKS'... whats the deal?

You can buy plenty at 380 bucks a rifle. Thats what supply and demand has come to. They were 75 dollars in the 90s. Prices on firearms rarely decrease.

Skss have been steadily increasing in price for years, especially the nice ones. They were tough to find at 200$ the past few years unless you wanted a beat up Chinese one.

The cost to manufacture the same rifle today would exceed $800, so until price gets there it is technically still under market value... in which case the price will continue to go up as demand increases and supply dwindles. Once it reaches that threshold however you will likely see fresh production as well as buyers shift to other similarly priced options.

The price of the mosin m44s is a bit ridiculous. There has be millions of them around. A nice rifle but when you can buy a brand new Tikka for the same price there is a bit of a problem.

Except in China, they could make these for less then $40 retail to some foreign market...

Things go up in price. I am not complaining as I was smart enough to realize they would go up. I may know where 8 very nice sks are. I paid 150 to 200 for Russians figuring I could eventually make some money on them. I am not ready to sell yet. Blued metal and laminate stocks in excellent condition go for what 500 or more now.

China make t81 sks variant for 1000$+ TODAY!

No, they retail for $1000 because people are willing to pay $1000 for this crap. Big difference between what it costs to make them and what TI sells them for because they are the only ones bringing them in.
Reminds me of the Nork M14's Lever was selling for $800 when they were the only deal in town 20 years ago, then other dealers were bringing them in for $400 and still making money.

my nephew owns 2 unfired '''' supergrades'''' bought at dante couple years ago.he refused 600$ each recently. he believes such nice units will gain in value in the upcoming year.
