Food Plots let get going!

Moose are browsers, rather than grazers so I doubt they would eat from the food plot. The northern Sask. guys could tell you if they see them eating field crops.

We have approx. 200 acres and where we are planning to put the food plot next year and the location is where the moose frequent. Would moose also eat from the food plot?

Plant some cabbages and balsam fir. You won't get many cabbages or Christmas trees, but you'll have plenty of moose!

The big grain & alfalfa fields around here have lots of moose feeding around them usually along the edge beside the bush line. We used to hunt the crops when it was time to get serious about putting a bull in the freezer. Just be there at first shooting light and glass until a bull is located, get in close enough for a shot then off to the farm for the tractor.

Who's doing food plots this year?

I over seeded my plot with a mix of 2 hearty Clovers White and Alsike.

I also raked a new plot under my Late Fathers favorite Apple tree and planted it with the same clover mix.

I have 10kg of Plot seed which is a mix of several barrasca's, alfalfa, chicory, millet, red, white and Alsike clover......I will be putting in two new stands and this mix will be used around them.
