I was reading an article in Auto Pistol Magazine on the Sig P226 and they listed the different militarys that use them and Canada was on the list. Is this article accurate?

yeah i think the JTF has the sigs, at the war museum in Ottawa, the sig pistol is in the display case /w the C7 rifle variants....

MP's use the 225, only holds 8 rds. Don't know which model Sig the Navy or JTF uses.

Hi Power is still general issue for most of the forces.

MP's, Navy Boarding Party, and Naval Helicopter Det - Sig P225
CANSOF - various Sig series (P226, P226R, P228 etc)
everyone else - Inglis No2 Mk1*

Tac Hel and Tac Fighters aircrews also has P225

Rumour has it that the Sigs can't use the older SMG 9mm due to the slides getting damaged. The older rounds being more powerful. Anyone know if this is true?

Interesting, I thought they were just using those Brownings or Inglis pistols.
combat arms trades use the old brownings, old mags are junk and need replaced, turned upsidedown and rounds all fall out

I did a range qual a few weeks back and we had two makes of brand new 9mm magazines. No feed problems, but one shooter broke the locking lug off the barrel.

3 tours completed, I had both pistol and a rifle (or carbine on one) for all of them and that the way to go

On my last tour, I had one old (Inglis) mag and a new one. The old Inglis mag spent the tour in one of my barrack box, only used the new one (... and the 3 10rds pinned mags that I had with me)

Hey all.............

During my time I carried the Browning and yes, jennis the females did carry the .38 revolver. But, toward the end of my stint, (bout 10 yrs ago) the revolver had been relegated to the SIU, and the plain clothes guys.

Cheers.
