anyone near moncton new brunswick willing to lend me a copy of the Canadian Resticted Firearms safety course manual? Im thinking about challenging the test and would like to read up first, thanks

You should call the Chief Firearms Officer and be sure there is a spot for you to challenge the test.I called and was told I had to send $50 to reserve my spot(for Fredericton) to challenge and they would send the books to me as soon as they got my money.

If you have a PAL, a monkey could pass an RPAL challenge. Study the book and check up on some old posts here regarding a question or two in error. (e.g. HP ammo NOT prohibited but its on the test)

For the practical, ask for as much time as you need to become familiar with the handguns they have for the test. Don't point the gun at yourself or the instructor, make sure you understand how to store and transport the gun as you will be asked to demonstrate. Read the headstamps on any ammo you pickup before you load a gun. E.g. you don't want to try and load .38S&W into a .38SPL revolver.
