I just received a new tool (from a seller on *bay) for my norc m14s rifles. It is a bolt disassembly/assembly tool , manufactured by a company called strobel. works for m1, m14 and m1a bolts. I've seen a few different styles but this is one handy piece of kit and it works so well... simplifying the bolt takedown .
there is one on *bay.com (search "m1a") right now and they do ship to canada..... someone better grab it before i do :D .... I highly recommend this one.
here's some pics

Ok, thanks. I did a search under that and found pictures for an auction on gun actions that had already ended. I've hear rumors of flying pieces and frustration taking the bolt apart without some assistance. I'd like to tear mine down just to see how it works and clean it thoroughly.

The worst part about researching m14's on this site is the search engine not taking 3 letter search terms. Its a real frustration and a good thing some call theirs m305's.

I have the brownells version.. Still was a PITA to get the extractor back together... promised myself never to take it apart unless I had too!

i've used the brownells.... this one is way better in my opinion.
the disassembly reassembly was like childs play... really;)

there is another of these listed on *bay.com ends in 1 day or so.... grab it up boys and girls --- M1 Garand, M1A, M1 Carbine Bolt Tool - New

there's another bolt tool on *bay.com right now..... do search for this number 160187395730 ..... don't #### around bidding..... buy it NOW ;) ... worth every penny

Yeah, deffinitely worth every penny, I must have spent about an hour with my vise and an old .30 carbine brass trying to press the bolt all back together. Finally got it after lots of bits falling and flying about.

I asked him if he had more, he said he would put another up for auction. Bang! Gone.. :(

I am seeing if he will sell outright and also asked him about a group buy / 10pc purchase.

Seeing how everyone seems to be getting a M14, maybe I will ask him for a 20 piece discount :)

and another one is up for grabs, search this number 160187628049

although..... the guy has jacked his shipping price :jerkit:
i only paid 6.50 u.s. for shipping when i bought mine from this same *bay seller and now he wants 17.50 for shipping..... I'd call him out on that one.

from thier address in Jackson Montana to mine in surrey the USPS postal label says $4.66. I also got dinged at the door $5.00 handling by the rip off artists at canada customs and the applicable canadian taxes.
One thing i hate.... and which is also "against ebay rules" is sellers inflating shipping costs. Advertised shipping on this item when i bought mine was 6.50 to canada.
at 17.50 which is the guys current "to canada" shipping quote...... I wouldn't buy it before messaging the seller and calling him on it.

Paying a couple extra bucks is no big deal. Sure it cost $4.66 to ship it, he still had to box it and drive to the post office. Consider it a handling fee.
But your right, $17,50 is out to lunch....

edit. I just picked one up. I paid $53.45, that would only be a $3.50 shipping charge. LOL

17.50 is the insured shipping I still see the "first class" @ 6.50.

ahhh, your right Matt mg , i see it now.
I was the guy that convinced this ebay seller to ship to canuckistan.... grab em while they are for sale..... like the post reads.... one handy piece of kit :D
mine works very well..... no more springs to the forhead with that silly take down tool that comes with the gun. I guess a guy could get proficient with the standard take down tool..... but if you get a chance to pick up one of these from ebay... jump on it
I'll keep throwing the auction numbers up here as i see them. ;)
