For the Record for those who Care

Good Afternoon All!

I started this business as a hobby 15 years ago, because of my love for firearms and the sports. Two and a half years ago while the recession was on i decided to take my hobby and put it into the internet business. Which caused my business to grow 800% and within a year of that another 200%. At this time we realized the need to expand to a central location with more phone lines, unlimited phone services, and better shipping and recieving of firearms, and larger store front.

We moved for one reason to provide better service to the Canadian Fire Arm consumer.

In our previous location 40km from the nearest post office and freight pick up with one phone line and limited internet access. It caused many trips to Melfort 2 to 3 times a day, shipping and receiving. Staff was having to travel 80km a day in all types of weatheto r on poor roads at the best of conditions.

After our last CFO inspection we realized the need for an intensive inventory program which was designed by a CGN member, thank you!!!

So when deciding to expand and find the right location, the process began. With the move in progress along came the permitts, licenses and now being advised by the CFO we needed to apply for a new liscense for the new location. This all took time and with this came construction of the business, hiring new staff, ordering more inventory for the store front.

After receiving all permits and fire arms license we now had the task of transfering 874 fire arms in 27 working days, doing about 50 a day by phone to CFO. Taking guns to the new location and having them put into new inventory program, to include make, model, ser #, cert. #, and any other variations to model of firearm.

During this time we took 383 orders in a two month moving process, and a paper file system and an incomplete inventory system. This caused a loss of 22 orders that were filed improperly to which refunds were made or other arrangements were agreed upon and later found and 39 orders shipped later than exceptable. We understand our flaw, with having to only be able to move 50 guns a day and adding them properly into the new computer program as described. The old business operating on files and the new business with incompleted inventory lists this caused much confussion with staff and inventory. To add to this we had been notified that our interact company out of the States does not allow mail order fire arms like Canada does, we then had to find a canadian card processing company to provide the service. This is why some refunds had to be mailed out and other have not been charged for their orders, we do now have this terminal in the shop to be set up as of Monday June 27th. For this we apoligies.

In all of this we did not do any advertising on Badger Website, forums, and epuipment exchange only to lessen the confussion. We will start our advertising campaign very soon as our grand opening was last Tuesday and our CFO inspection for new business is Tuesday June 28th. After the inspection we feel we will have more of a grasp on our new location and completed inventory program. Staff is coming along great!!

We notified time and time again about our move to the new location, to provide better service to our customers, by giving them more phone lines, more communications, and quicker internet services.

Even though we have made our move and reasons for the move very public a select few have gone above and beyond after receiving their fire arm or refund during this complicated time continue to post on Badger PAID forum to the access to where all access to where locked and for this we appoligies to those who meant no undue harm.

I know that some CGNers don't care about a dealers personal life, but I got into this for the love of guns, sport, and like minded people. I have 3 successful incorporations, farming, liquor vendors, and rental properties, and sismic rigs, And with out a doubt know that this business once all has been implemented will be amongst the respected dealers of Canada. I did not get into the gun business for the money, I get by fine. I got into to it for the love of guns.

After this move we have learned alot and have made alot of mistakes, but have learned from every single one of them. One of the biggest things we could have done was implement the computer inventory program before the move. This would have saved confussion and would have enabled new staff to have more affirmative answers for customers questions and inquiries. With all that we have learned it has only helped in providing a better service to our present and future customers, that enjoy the same passion and i have for the last 30 years.

I do find it a little disturbing how some have the need to keep coming back to our site to gossip even though they have vowed not to buy from Badger. Sounds like coffee shop B.S. or face book to me and I will not have either on my paid site.

After saying all this I"m going shooting on my own range 200 yards from my house and enjoy the rest of my day off!!!

Sorry for the inconvience, looking forward to serving you in the future.

Thank-You
Armand and staff

Good on you Armand for posting this info. It should clear up the stories. I've never bought from you yet,but I would not hesitate to if you had something I was interested in.

Excellent, informative post. Thank you for keeping us informed and rest assured that I already know exactly what I will be ordering from you when I have some disposable income.

Businesses are living creatures; customers can kill them; owners keep them alive.

Now I understand how a set of telephone calls played out. No hard feelings.

Congrats on the grand opening. I wasn't able to attend but I fully intend on stopping in next time I am in your area.
You have been in business long enough to know that there will always be a few customers who are never happy but the gratification of working with the good ones and developing a new business is worth all the headaches. Best of luck in the future.

I've only dealt with Armand once, it took a couple of weeks longer than anticipate to get my handgun, but I wouldn't hesitate a moment do deal with him again. So Armand I wish you good luck with your new location.

Too many whiners on this site. Too fast to criticize without facts.

Nice to see a dealer standup and tell these children to stop crying.

Hope to do business with you some day.

Armand, Thanks for the Great Service! You have all ways treated me good and have gone out of you way to provide me with outstanding service!

There are a couple of guns that I'm thinking about ordering form Badger. And when the time comes, I won't hesitate to deal with them. Explosive growth is difficult for any business to manage and there will always be growing pains. It's good to see that you are addressing the problems and I look forward to doing business with Badger in the near future.

I may actually be out in Wakaw this summer visiting family. If I am, then I will definitely be making the drive over to Melfort to check out the store in person!
